| One of the senior vocalists of Carnatic music, Charumati was a Gold medalist and stood first in BA (Music) in the University of Madras. She had her initial training under her mother and vidwan Ramnad Krishnan. Later, she had the privilege of learning under Dr M L Vasantakumari for more than twelve years whose style she imbibed. She has also had the benefit of enhancing her abilities under great artistes like T Brinda, D K Pattammal and D K Jayaraman. Endowed with a sweet voice, she is known for her rich imagination and novel ideas. She is a popular vocalist with numerous awards to her credit. |
