Great legend KVN passes away.....

Sangita Kalanidhi K V Narayanaswamy was a great legend whose loss has created  a very big vacuum in the field of classical carnatic music.  He was a bridge between the old and the new generation.  His niraval singing remains in the minds of all carnatic rasikas.  Some of the compositions like  Varali (Chatusra Ata tala) varnam, ''varugalamo', some of the compositions of Swathi Thirunal and 'Thirupavai'  could be heard only from him.  Carnatica specifically remembers his invaluable association and also his memorable concert on raga Varali during one of the 'Raganubhava' sessions.  KVN's music would remain immortal.

He was one of the distinguished veteran vocalists of Carnatic music, who had his own style of singing.  He had his initial training from his grandfather Narayana Bhagavathar and his father Viswanatha Bhagavathar and his formal training from the great maestro Ariyakkudi Ramanuja Iyengar.  He served as a music teacher at the College of carnatic Music at Madras for 20 years and retired as a professor in 1982.
