Meaning
Oh dEvi, the fish-eyed one! Please kindly come to protect me,
please come to save me.You are the (wish yielding) crest jewel, cintAmaNi,
to those who worship you.
Oh BAlA, the effulgent mother! PArvati, the queen of heavens,
the embodiment of all virtues, the soft-spoken one, dEvI, your tresses are
dark like a rain-bearing cloud, you are the mother of three worlds, oh! the
supreme Goddess, bhavAni, is it too difficult for you to shower your blessings
on me, who has placed implicit faith and trust in you?
Oh ambA,
whose beauty outshines the radiance of the moon, the benevolent one to
celestials, who is worshiped by the songs KumAra and gaNEsha, shyAmaLAmba,
the one whose lips resemble the bimba fruit, Gauri, the one who shines
in the kadamba forest, who has a neck that resembles a conch, and who
protects the trees of the Himalayan valley, oh bAlAmba, amba!
You are
rudrANi, the consort of rudra, and worshiped by Sarasvati and LakSmi, you are
auspicious kalyANi, you are revered by shyAma k.rSNa, you speak melodiously,
oh consort of shiva, you revel in the music of the vINa, you reside in
the center of the auspicious wheel, the shrIcakram, your lotus feet are
worshiped by the celestials. There is no one equal to you, oh auspicious dEvi,
kAtyAyani, the mother amba.
