Meaning
Oh
the fish-eyed goddess, the one who gives shelter to the dejected ones, why
are you hesitating to protect me?
Oh
Devi, the one who rejoices in music, there is no one who is equal to you
in this world.
Oh,
the consort of the one who has serpents as his ornaments (shiva), please
listen to my sincere requests. There
is no one other than you on this earth, Oh Ba”ngAru Bomma!
Oh, the one whose face
is like the moon, whose teeth resemble jasmine flowers, the daughter of
the snow-clad mountain HimavAn, the ever youthful kaumAri, the supporter
of the entire universe, please be kind enough to appear before me, and
bestow upon me the boons.
Oh,
the one with gaits like an elephant, the sister of Lord shyAmak.rSNa, the
protector of kAma (cupid), bhavAni, one who is decorated with a crescent
moon, and one having cloud-like dark tresses, please grant me your
presence without any further delay.
