I have studied mridangam upto arangetram stage in the late 70s. Later, because of personal and professional reasons I had to discontinue mridangam for a long intervel. Last year i tried to take it up again, but I find that i have developed low back pain that prevents me from practice in an effective manner. Now, I am 45, but I feel i should take up vocal music, only for personal satisfaction. I have not learned vocal in a systematic manner but have listened to a lot of concerts and have written reviews in Hindu and Indian Express. My article has also won commendation from Carnatica. Is there anyone in Coimbatore who will teach me vocal music? I want to LEARN ONLY FOR PERSONAL ENJOYMENT!!! So no question of strict time schedule, preparation for competitions etc! I parayerfully wait for an ideal Guru, invoking the blessings of Devi Mookambika!!
