This year's schedule for the famous Navarathri Sangeethotsavam held at the Navarathri Mandapam, adjoining the majestic Shri Padmanabhaswamy temple in Thiruvananthapuram has been released. This festival is exclusively dedicated to compositions of Maharaja Swathi Tirunal and features the nine Navarathri krithis of the Maharaja as the main item of the concert on each of the nine days. Here is a special feature on the Navarathri krithis, authored by Carnatica's own Dr. P. P. Narayanaswami.

  • Concerts start at 6 pm and end at 8.30 pm sharp.
  • Concerts are open to all lovers of music. However, since the Mandapam is a Hindu temple for the duration of the festival, certain rules and regulations apply with regard to seating, attire and timings.
