Music, Mathematics, Pallavi & Manodharma Classes by Vidwan J. Venkataraman |

Carnatica is pleased and honoured to announce that as part of the annual Summer Camp, reputed vidwan and pallavi exponent Tiruchi Sri. J. Venkataraman is conducting classes at our premises in Arulambal St., T. Nagar, Chennai. The classes are open to all age groups and there is no entry fee. Voluntary contributions in the form of guru dakshina are welcome and encouraged. Anyone with an interest in mathematical aspects, laya, pallavi setting & execution, manodharma aspects (neraval, swaram, etc.) is welcome to join the sessions. The sessions are also being video-taped for archiving. The sessions commenced this past weekend and will go on for approximately a week, depending on the response and demand. Vidushi Suguna Purushottaman will also be conducting and leading some sessions on pallavi singing, special talas, laya aspects and any other specific topic for which there is a request. Carnatica's regular faculty will also be available during this ongoing Summer Camp for students to avail of walk-in classes on specific songs that one would like to learn, expert advice on particular musical aspects, etc. This is in addition to the regular module-based training which students can enroll in.
