With the
primary motto of the year being "Music for all; Music for World Peace
and Harmony", and the goal to spread the spirit of patriotism, peace
and unity in every Indian's heart, Carnatica, in association with Sri
Krishna Sweets, will be organising a mega musical march on the occasion
of the Indian Independence Day on August 15, 2002.
Purpose of the event:
At a time when the whole nation is going through a
tough period, we want to bind every Indian through this Patriotic
moment, reviving the memories of our freedom fighters. Special occasions
like Independence day and Republic day are the nation’s greatest binding
forces. And since music has no language / sex / caste / creed, this is
the best medium to reach out to people.
The Vision:
To see India emerge as a powerful force at the
world level. To bring out the varied culture and heritage of our
country. To channelise our energy in a positive way so that we can
contribute to the nation's progress. To spread the message of global
peace and harmony.
A first-of-its-kind event:
Never before has a musical event of this kind and
with such a purpose been organised before. And the response has been
unanimous! The event will involve something like 1000 - 1500 students
from about 80 schools and
colleges in Chennai. Over 30 reputed music organisations are
joining hands with us on this occasion. Over 50 leading personalities
from various walks of life will also lend their support. To top it all,
several top companies in India like Ashok Leyland, Pepsi, Bisleri, Nalli Silks, Hyundai Motors and www.nextgenerationtamils.com
