The much-awaited Cleveland Tyagaraja Aradhana is just round the corner! This is a landmark year for the festival committee, as they will be celebrating their silver jubilee. Fulfilling expectations, a mega-festival has been scheduled featuring over 25 concerts within a span of 10 days, between March 30, 2002 and April 7, 2002. Giants in the Carnatic music field such as Smt. T Mukta, Dr. N Ramani, T N Seshagopalan, T V Gopalakrishnan, Trichur Ramachandran, Tiruvengadu Jayaraman, Chitravina Ravikiran as well as popular stars like Sudha Raghunathan, P Unnikrishnan and Sanjay Subramaniam will be some of the key participants. Another attraction this year is the dance performance by Smt. Vijayanthimala Bali, a veteran Bharatanatyam exponent.

It is the usual practice of the Aradhana Committee to recognise the services of musicians, organisers and volunteers on this occasion and this year is no different. Smt. Mukta will receive the title of Sangeeta Ratnakara, while Dr. N Ramani will be honoured with Seva Ratna. Other awards include Nritya Ratnakara on Smt. Vijayanthimala Bali, Kala Seva Mani on Dr. M V Raman and Nritya Seva Mani on Smt. Sujatha Vijayaraghavan. Twenty-five teachers from North America will also be recognised for their contributions towards promoting Carnatic music. Here is the schedule for the festival.
