MASTER BALAMURALIKRISHNA - NEEDS MORE ENCOURAGEMENT |
Master Balamuralikrishna, a budding youngster is the disciple of P S
Narayanaswamy. He performed at Sri Tyaga Brahma Gana Sabha on 28th December
2000 with Satish Kumar on the violin and Dr. S Ananth on the mridangam. The concert
began with the Sahana varnam, 'Karunimpa'. It
was followed by a 'Tiruvarutpa' of Ramalinga Adigal, in the raga Gowla, which
he said, was tuned by
his guru. After a brief alapana in the raga Dharmavati, he rendered 'Bhajanaseyarada', a
kriti set to Roopaka tala which is a composition of Mysore Vasudevachar. The neraval was appended in the charanam. One hour is a very short time for an artiste to perform on stage, where there is an interaction between the artiste and the audience. This definitely creates a different ambience, unlike AIR programmes. It is a request to the Sabha secretaries on behalf of the audience, to increase the duration of concerts to at least an hour and a half. AUDIENCE FEEDBACK:
Dr. Meena Jayashankar and J V Deepak: Today's concert was very well presented by
Balamuralikrishna with crisp raga alapanas and kalpanaswaras. |
