Pushpa had earlier been to Srilanka for a Bharatanatyam recital some years back. She has also acted in the Children's Film "Purandaradasa" and won the Best Child Artist Award. She has won innumerable first prizes in various competitions right from her childhood. In the Bharatiyar competition she was awarded a gold medal for her musical clarity and pronounciation. Pushpa's passion for Carnatic music is now much more intense and she is devoting herself to this. Having graduated with a Masters Degree in Music, Pushpa is all set to grasp the nuances of this ancient art. As is often said, "Music is friend of pleasure, wisdom's aid", Pushpa's music is all-encompassing and is to be cherished and enjoyed. As a performing artiste, right from an early age Pushpa's rendition received much critical acclaim. Concert tours all over the country put her into limelight. Her performance at the "Spirit of Unity Concert" of Puttaparti, at London and other places gave a boost to her musical career. She has been performing in all leading and renowned Sabhas in Chennai and other cities in India. Music without movies is incomplete. Pushpa has given her melodic voice for two numbers in Telugu and Malayalam movies, which have gained much appreciation and well deserved recognition. K Balachander and G M Kumar's tele-serials and others by noted movie/TV directors have opened out new frontiers and opportunities for her to showcase her talent. She has also sung in the album "Mangalam" released by Magnasound. Continuing to perform with constant creativity, interest and a deep-felt urge to succeed, Pushpa marches ahead in the musical world. Pushpa's entry into the advertising world is distinctly characterised by her work in innumerable ad jingles. Her music being one of a different kind, blended into the fusion music and fast numbers, thereby enhancing the tone and quality without losing her inherent classical touch. Ponds, Clinic Shampoo, Spinz, Ramco Cement, Prince Jewellery, Ranjana Sarees are some of the catchy and attractive jingles Pushpa has given her mellifluous voice to. |
