THE FLAUTIST

   

P S Krishnamurthy has given several Carnatic flute recitals since 1984 under the auspices of various organisations. A few are mentioned below:

THE VOCALIST

   

A popular vocalist of Bombay with several concerts to his credit, he toured in 1990, the entire region of Gulf in propagating 
the Bhakti cult through Namasankeertanam and Carnatic classical concerts.  

He has given Carnatic vocal recitals under the auspices of Music Triangle, Bharatiya Fine Arts, Chembur Fine Arts, 
Shanmukhananda Sangeetha Sabha, Kalamandal, Bombay, Surat Tamizh Sangam etc.

He presented a North-South combination of Devotional classical Bhajans at Narada Gana Sabha in Chennai in 1997 amidst an 
invited audience comprising several veterans like Sangeeta Kalanidhi Smt. M S Subbulakshmi, Sri T Sadasivam, Sangeeta 
Kalanidhi Dr. N Ramani, Madurai Sri T N Seshagopalan and many other connoisseurs of classical music.  

He has earned several reviews and accolades praising the purity in his presentations both from the press and connoisseurs. 

    

THE MUSIC COMPOSER

    

  • He has composed the music and also rendered the vocals for Bhajan cassettes like ‘Amrit’ in 1990, ‘Vayalur Amritham’ in 
    1994 and ‘Sai Prema Avatara' in 2000.

  • He has also directed the music and rendered vocals for several dance ballets for the Satya Sai Samiti, Bombay, thematic Bharathanatyam presentations featured in India and abroad.  

         

THE LYRICIST (SANSKRIT AND TAMIZH)

    

  • He has penned and tuned three Pada Varnams (in ragas Kalyani, Bahudari and Keeravani) and many keertanas in Tamil and Sanskrit.  

    

THE HARMONIST

    

  • He won the First Prize for Harmonium in the All India Radio Competitions held in 1982.

  • Concert in Music Triangle, Mumbai.

  • Concert in Bhakta Rasika Ranjani Sabha, Trombay.

  • Accompanied Dr. M Balamuralikrishna for two major Festival concerts at Elephanta Caves and Pune University.

  • Accompanied Sri T N Seshagopalan for his lecture-demonstration concert on Sampradaya Namasankeertana Nidhi.

    

THE PIANIST (CARNATIC CLASSICAL)

      

Being an exponent in harmonium, also adept at composing music, he has blended the nuances of Carnatic music in this 
Western instrument successfully.

  • Has performed for dance ballets abroad, uniquely combining vocals with the Piano.  

  • He has the capacity to render full-fledged Carnatic concerts on the Piano.  

  • He is scheduled to give such a concert in February 2001 in Bangalore
