'Chitravina' Ganesh |
||
'Chitravina' Ganesh, son of Gayathri and Parthasarathy, was born on June 17, 1976. Ganesh was trained from very young age by his maternal uncle, an acclaimed musical wizard and guru, 'Chitravina' Narasimhan. Ganesh stormed into the world of Carnatic music even at the tender of age of two and a half, just like his cousins 'Chitravina' Ravikiran, Shashikiran and Kiranavali. He was able to identify and render around 225 Ragas and 175 Talas and answer numerous other technical questions with ease. Ganesh then continued his musical training under Narasimhan and also from Ravikiran as a vocalist. He also had the rare privilege of learning from Sangeeta Kalanidhi T Brinda for a few years. Even at the age of 8, Ganesh developed
an interest in the 21-stinged fretless instrument, Chitravina. Combining his natural
musicality with assiduous practice, Ganesh has now emerged as one of the most
distinguished artistes in this instrument. His style is marked by an easy flow of movement
and effortless handling of multiple speeds without eschewing on the artistic elements of
the music. |
