versatile artiste, he is adept at playing the mridangam and is also a
vocalist of high calibre. One of the top-ranking mridangists today with a very fine
technique and strong musical sense, he has accompanied several leading
artistes over the decades. As a vocalist, he is competent in both the
Carnatic and Hindustani streams and often gives jugalbandi programmes. |
