| Born in a family of musicians, he had his initial training under his father and then underwent gurukulavasa under Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer. His musical acumen was very sharp. Endowed with a graceful voice, TMT, as he is known has carved a niche for himself with his fresh approach and fertile imagination. He served as the lecturer, Professor and Vice Principal of the Tamilnadu Govt. College of Music, Madras for several years and retired as principal in 1981. Later, he was the Principal, Teachers College of Music run by the Music Academy, Madras. With his large repertoire, he is a much sought-after guru. |
