| He hails from a family of famous musicians in Rudrapatna, Karnataka. His first guru was his father, Rudrapatna Krishna Sastri. Later he learnt the intricacies of the art from his elder brother R K Venkatarama Sastri, a famous violinist himself. A highly respected musician, Srikantan has performed in many parts of the country and abroad. He was made the Asthana Vidwan of Sri Venkateswara Temple, Pittsburgh, USA in 1985. He also served as the Producer of All India Radio for 32 years. |
