A descendant of the illustrious Appayya Dikshitar, Easwaran was born at Mannargudi, which would seem to have a partiality for percussionists. Easwaran had his training in mridangam under Kunniseri U Krishnaswami Iyer. He is a staff artiste of All India Radio, Chennai and has accompanied top-notch artistes in a career spanning over three decades. He is known for his sharp mind that is quick to follow the thought-processes of the main artiste and execute them then and there. It is no wonder that he is a globetrotter. |
